Starters : Electric motors that are used to rotate your engine till it ignites and runs. Starters use a starter solenoid to connect the battery to the starter motor. An armature engages a gear onto the flywheel to rotate the engine while the starter motor is rotating. Most starters will have a starter solenoid built onto it and are replaced as an assembly. Starters may show a problem by cranking the engine too slowly, a clicking sound while turning the ignition or pressing the start button to start the engine, or no noise what so ever while turning the key to the start position or pressing the start button.
