Output Seal : The output seal is usually refereed to as the rear seal on the transmission or differential where an axle or axles are connected to. The primary function of the output seal is to keep the oil or fluid inside the transmission or differential while keeping dust and water out at the same time. These seals can fail causing oil to leak out of the transmission or differential.
If you suspect any output seal leak, get your car looked at before you run your transmission or differential low or out of oil. Burning oil or fluids under the vehicle are both common warning signs of a leaking seal.
