Oil Pan : The part of the engine or transmission that is unboltable that holds the oil or transmission fluid. Oil pans are typically made of steel, aluminum or plastic. Most have a drain plug to drain the oil or transmission fluid.
Oil pans come in all styles, shapes and sizes. Oil pan failures don’t happen often however; a collision with the road or other debris can crack, dent or break an oil pan. When an oil pan breaks, fluid will leak out. Ignoring the leak can cause a failure of the engine / transmission.
Some oil pan jobs may include:
• Oil Pan Gasket
• Oil Pump
• Oil De-sludge
• Transmission Service
