Fob : On automotive applications a fob is a keyless entry designed to use a security protocol and an access code to unlock / lock doors open your trunk and may even start your car. Fobs are small and are usually on a keychain or are part of the ignition key. A small battery is replaceable on most fobs however some auto makes actually use an inductive pickup to charge the fob battery every time the key is put in the ignition. Programming is always required to install or uninstall a fob device.
